Apple Class-Action Settlement

A Supreme Court judge in Canada has approved a settlement of up to $14.4 million from Apple for a class-action lawsuit alleging deliberate slowdown of older iPhone models through software updates. Eligible Canadians, except in Quebec, may receive between $17.50 and $150 depending on their claim and must provide their phone’s serial number. This settlement, covers iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7, and 7 Plus users, that had their devices before Dec. 21, 2017 and involves the iOS version 10.2.1. All eligible class members who fit within the criteria will have until September 2nd this year to submit their claim, which isn’t available yet, but will be online in the near future. We will keep you updated! Similar to a U.S. case, this addresses concerns regarding software updates and their impact on device performance.
