At the London Marathon, widow Laura Coleman-Day chose to bear her pain—along with the hem of her wedding gown—to honour her late husband.
On April 27, she completed her 13th marathon to raise funds for Anthony Nolan, a charity focused on blood cancer research. This effort was inspired by her husband, Xander, who passed away from post-transplant complications linked to acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
“They were doing a lot of research into post-transplant, and I didn’t want anyone else to experience what my son and I have gone through,” Coleman-Day shared. In a heartfelt Instagram post on April 10, she reflected on her marathon journey and her choice to wear her wedding gown for this race.
