Now I don’t want to point any fingers… but I think maybe we should all do a little refresher on the rules of curling. Just a touch-up, you know. Nothing major — just a little handy reminder so we’re not all getting bent out of shape.
I’m not trying to single anyone out or give anyone the finger — I just think we might’ve let a few things slip through the cracks. Maybe we’ve been a bit too loose with our grip on the fundamentals. We don’t need to thumb our noses at the rulebook. We just need to get a handle on it again.
Let’s nail down the basics. Brush up on the sweeping etiquette. Get back in touch with what hog line violations actually are. Because right now, some of these throws are looking a little out of hand.
No need to snap at each other or start pointing digits in every direction. We just need to put our heads together, hand in glove, and iron out the kinks. If we all pitch in — give it the old fingertip effort — I’m sure we can smooth this over.
So let’s not finger-wag, let’s not get knuckle-headed about it. Let’s just take five, count to ten if we have to, and get back to playing the game the way it was meant to be played — hands down
