A lot of places have come up with different ideas to incentivize folks to get the COVID jab. Everything from free burgers to tickets to sporting events.
This one, however, is made in Canada. The Manitoba government announced they’ll be giving away nearly 2 million dollars in a new lottery designed to encourage people to get the poke. For those 18+, there will be three winners of one hundred thousand dollars in the Winnipeg health zone and one 100G winner in every other health zone. For those under 18? Well, there’s no going hawg wild spending your dough. Younger participants will have a chance to win a 25 thousand dollar scholarship.
The faster we get vaccinated, the faster we get our lives back. Pleased to announce a new province-wide lottery that will award nearly $2 million in cash and scholarships this summer to Manitobans who get vaccinated. #ProtectMB https://t.co/S9RTmE9uA4 pic.twitter.com/kpTqitB8P0

I’m just surprised we didn’t come up with this idea in Alberta. We’re the kings and queens of lotteries and 50/50s.
