Disney certainly pulled out all the stops for their live-action remake of Pinocchio. Top director in Robert Zemeckis, top actor in Tom Hanks- not to mention top CGI talent to bring the little wooden puppet to life. With the law of diminishing returns in full effect, the movie failed to earn positive reviews from critcs or audiences.

Director Guillermo del Toro has been working on a stop-motion take on the story with a decidedly scarier looking Pinocchio. Hey, if they can make Winnie The Pooh a horror movie, maybe that’s the answer.
