We’ve all heard about the heartwarming tradition of “pay it forward” at drive-thrus—where one customer treats the person behind them, sparking a chain of kindness. It’s a simple gesture that can brighten someone’s day and foster a sense of community.
Recently, a story circulating on TikTok has captured attention involving a woman named Samantha.
Last week, Samantha stopped at her local Dunkin’ for a quick coffee run. When she reached the window, the employee informed her that the man who had just driven off had left a message: he claimed SHE would be paying for HIS order.
In her TikTok caption, Samantha expressed her disbelief and frustration: “To the random guy in front of me… who lied to the employee… I hope you have the day you deserve.”
Later, Samantha posted a follow-up video clarifying the situation. She explained that she did not actually pay for the man’s order and was somewhat taken aback by his actions. Fortunately, the Dunkin’ employees handled the situation with professionalism, despite their evident frustration at being used in this way—essentially, the man had “stolen” his coffee under false pretenses.
Despite the initial shock, Samantha chose to respond positively. She shared her intention to restore goodness in the world by returning to the same Dunkin’ location and paying for the order of the person behind her.
@samanthawhitebrochu I mean this with the upmost disrespect #karma #coffee #dunkin
